Who We Are

We’ve built this consultancy on a simple principle: organizations with ambitious missions deserve communications that match.

Giller & Company is a strategic communications consultancy built on nearly two decades of experience across corporate, nonprofit and higher education sectors. We partner with organizations doing work that matters — and help them communicate it in ways that actually land.

We work with large universities, nonprofits, law firms and entrepreneurs — and we bring experience shaped by years inside Fortune 500 companies and national organizations. Our clients have one thing in common: they need more than a vendor. They need a communications partner who understands their world, embeds with their team and delivers work that moves the needle — whether that’s a donor cultivation strategy, a flagship magazine, a website overhaul or a speech that commands the room.

Our clients don’t get a junior account manager and a ticketing system. They get Jamie — a senior strategist and team leader who’s led communications for a $100 million campus launch, drafted corporate social media policy for a global brand and helped produce award-winning campaigns recognized by the American Advertising Federation and the Florida Public Relations Association. When the work calls for design, photography or video, we bring in trusted creative partners under our direction. The result is a lean, senior-led team that operates like an extension of your own.

Some work is too important for anything less than a strategist who knows your world, your audiences and your goals.

Jamie Giller, M.S. Founder & President

Jamie Giller knew the power of strategic communication before she knew it had a name. As a teenager, she built a website to connect with other young people navigating the challenges of divorce — a project that earned her the Silver Knight Award in Journalism from the Miami Herald and set the trajectory for everything that followed.

That early instinct led to nearly two decades of shaping how organizations communicate — from newsrooms to boardrooms to the halls of Florida’s largest universities.

Jamie began her career as a reporter at the Miami Herald before moving into public relations and corporate communications, where she worked with brands including New Balance, Panera Bread and BlackRock. She led multifaceted PR and marketing campaigns for national and international consumer brands, managing teams and driving measurable results in media coverage and retail sales. She also led the home products division of an integrated marketing agency, overseeing new product launches and client strategy.

Her career in higher education began at the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU, before moving to Florida International University. At FIU, she led communications across 23 departments, served as webmaster for more than 60 websites and doubled the subscriber base of the FIU Parent and Family Newsletter.

Jamie went on to the University of Central Florida, where she oversaw all branding, marketing and communications for the launch of the $100-million UCF Downtown campus. She developed the strategic communications plan for the campus opening, built a communication strategy for the transition of students and employees, led executive communications for senior university leadership, and managed crisis and reputation issues for the institution. Under her leadership, the campus’s campaigns earned a Gold and Silver ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation, a Golden Image Award of Distinction from the Florida Public Relations Association and a Golden Brick Award of Excellence from the Downtown Orlando Partnership.

In 2023, Jamie founded Giller & Company to bring that depth of experience — and that standard of work — to organizations that need senior-level communications leadership without the overhead of a full-time hire or the impersonal approach of a large agency.

Jamie holds a Bachelor of Science in communication from Boston University and a Master of Science in marketing from Florida International University. She is trained and certified by Google, Hootsuite and HubSpot in digital marketing, social media strategy and inbound marketing.

Why Giller & Company

You don’t need another agency that sends you a questionnaire, assigns you to a junior writer and delivers copy that could have been written for anyone. You need a partner who’s operated at the level you’re operating at — and who can communicate your value better than anyone on your team has time to.

That’s what we do. Here’s what makes us different:

We’ve done this before — at every level.

Most freelancers specialize in one thing. Jamie has spent nearly 20 years working across journalism, corporate communications, nonprofit advocacy and higher education — from drafting the first social media policy for a global brand to managing financial communications for a Fortune 500 company to launching a $100 million university campus. She’s managed teams, led communications across 23 departments and overseen 60+ institutional websites. That range isn’t a scattered career. It’s the reason we can walk into any organization, understand the landscape fast and start delivering immediately.

We navigate your complexity, not around it.

Every organization has its own politics, priorities and ways of getting things done. There are brand standards that can't bend, stakeholders with strong opinions and decisions that need buy-in from people who weren't in the room. We've worked inside complex institutions long enough to know that understanding those dynamics isn't a preliminary step — it is the work. We don't impose a playbook. We learn how your organization actually operates and build communications that work within that reality.

We embed. We don’t hand off.

Our clients don’t submit work orders into a queue. We join your meetings, access your systems, connect directly with your team members and operate as a seamless extension of your staff. That’s why our clients renew year after year — and why most of our work comes through long-term annual partnerships, not one-off projects.

Senior leadership on every project.

When you hire Giller & Company, you get Jamie — a senior strategist with nearly two decades of experience, trained and certified by Google, HubSpot and Hootsuite — leading every engagement. The thinking behind your communications matters as much as the words themselves. That’s not something you can automate. When the work calls for design, photography or video, we bring in trusted creative partners under our direction. You get a single point of contact, a lean team and no layers between you and the person doing the thinking.

We know your audiences aren’t one-size-fits-all.

Every organization communicates with multiple audiences at once — and each one is listening for something different. A message that resonates with a donor will miss the mark with an employee. A campaign that speaks to a prospective client won’t land the same way with a legislative committee. Too many organizations default to one voice for everyone and wonder why half their audience tunes out.

We’ve spent years writing for vastly different audiences within the same organization — from prospective students and their parents to alumni, faculty, donors, legislators, consumers and community partners. We know the difference between what a first-generation college student is searching for and what motivates a major gift donor, between what an employee needs to feel valued and what a board member needs to feel confident. That fluency extends to every sector we work in: we don’t write for “the audience.” We write for your audience.

Let’s begin the conversation.
